This small bowl is designed with a “Tokusa” pattern drawn by hand with a broom-like brush to make the thin blue lines centering to the middle of the bowl. The undulating sides give the kobachi bowl extra shine and a beautiful shape. 

The kobachi bowl is small bowl for a single serving of an appetizer or salad. You can use it to plate some pickled vegetables when eating a Japanese style meal with two or three persons. 

“Tokusa” series by the Hasami ware company Fukuhou Kiln was first produced in 1976. Since then, it has become a long selling standard item. The “Tokusa” is a pattern of stripes which has been used as a pattern for tableware since ancient times and is a familiar pattern in Japan.
