Musashi Kiln Water Plant Mino Ware Long Plate

This long plate features a light grayish hue and an elegant abstract motif of water plants, a hallmark of Yashichida Oribe ware, characterized by its green glaze and abstract brushstrokes.

The expressive green design extends onto the bottom of the plate, where Tsujii has created a repeating pattern with his fingertips.

Drawing inspiration from nature, Tsujii Musashi imbues his creations with a subtle, rustic beauty. The understated elegance of this piece is enhanced by gohonde, pinkish spots emerging after the firing of the pottery.

Thin and lightweight, this plate is easy to handle. It can be used as a main dish when plating grilled fish or for serving a selection of Japanese wagashi sweets.

Musashi Kiln was created by Tsujii Musashi in Mizunami City, Gifu Prefecture in 2006, with a focus on Mino ware. Alongside his distinctive pottery-making, he engages in agricultural pursuits, finding inspiration in nature for his designs.
